Why Fish for Carp??
Discover why carp are exciting to catch and how they offer nonstop action with gear you already own.
Pack bait is one of the easiest and cheapest ways to catch carp—and you don’t need to be a master chef to make it. With just three simple grocery store ingredients, you can mix up a batch in minutes. In fact, it’s so simple a 3-year-old can do it. (Watch us make it in the video below!)
Mix everything together in a bowl or bag and you're ready to go!
One batch is usually enough for a quick fishing trip. If I'm planning a 1/2 day of active fishing, I'll make a double batch.
One batch cost just a few dollars. Go cheap--use the store brands. Carp don't care!
You can make it the night before or the morning of your trip. Fresh bait tends to stick better and smell stronger.
Keep it in an airtight container or zip bag. Stored in the fridge, it will last up to a week, though fresh is always best. (It's food...it'll mold eventually :D )
Press it firmly around your feeder sinker until it holds together. Cast it out, and it will slowly break apart to draw in carp. Match your popup to the color of the corn. Either floating yellow corn, or yellow popup boilies.
Every 20–30 minutes is a good rule of thumb, unless you get a bite sooner.
Of course! Try adding other flavors, oats, peanut butter, or anything you think could interest carp.
