Monofilament (mono) fishing line is notorious for turning into a coiled slinky mess that can interfere with your casting, wrap into a knotted pile on the water, or slingshot back in your face when you try to set a hook.
But not anymore.
Direct Contact™ Mono is specially treated to reduce memory, and reduce stretch.
Do you know what happens when your mono stretches? Sure, it takes longer to break (at first). But it stretches because it's thinning out in an area, and it doesn't bounce back into shape after it's stretched. This means that the first time you fight a big fish, or have to pull out of a tight snag, you are weakening areas of your line which will break easier next time.
So what's the solution?
Our specially treated mono still has shock-absorbing properties, but doesn't stretch out like lower-quality line. This means you keep the shock-absorption to prevent a break-off from a fish taking off. But you keep more pressure on your hook, and don't thin out your line.

Need Help Deciding Between Braid and Mono? Answer these questions to yourself and you'll be sure to pick the right option for sure:
1) Do you fish in deep water, or need to make long casts? If so, consider Direct Contact™ Braid. Braid is about half as thick as the same test mono. This means you can fit more (or stronger) line on your reel if you choose braid.
2) Are you worried about not having stretch in your line? It's not likely that a fish will be able to take off with 40lb or 80lb braid and immediately snap it off. But if you would like a slight bit of shock protection, choose Direct Contact™ Mono. It's still designed to reduce stretch compared to other options, but it will help absorb shock of an instant strong strike. Alternatively, use a mono leader like Catfish Sumo's Safety Leader for extra protection.
3) Do you need to thread your line through tiny holes? Mono can be a little stiffer which can help threading your line. Though braid is thinner and can fit through smaller holes.

Premium Monofilament Fishing Line Built For Fighting Big Fish

Having always used Berkeley line, I decided to try direct contact after buying a big catfish rig, I usually fished bass, but after a long pause in my fishing, my son sent me YouTube videos of guys and gals pulling in some huge cats, and we were hooked on fishing for big cats, we started fishing after the prime time this year, but still caught some nice fish, so we decided to upgrade our equipment and line, I’ve yet to find out how this line holds up, but if it does as advertised, it will be worth the 5 stars
